Modulated transparency of CNT films

Scientists at University of California, Riverside have discovered that the optical transparency of single-walled carbon nanotube films can be modulated by the application of electrical potential in the presence of ionic liquid. The article "Charge-compensated, semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotube thin film as an electrically configurable optical medium" was published on line on April 21, 2013 in Nature Photonics.
